Florence H. Lemley, 85, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2006 at a local hospital.
Florence was born May 22, 1920 in Dwight, the daughter of Andrew A. and Virginia Myrtle (Clark) Engstrom. She grew up on the family farm north of Dwight.
Florence graduated from Emporia State Teachers College and taught at rural schools in Geary County and Dwight.
Florence married Wayne Lemley in Dwight on August 9, 1942. He passed away on December 29, 1995. Survivors include a son, Jerry Lemley, Kansas City, MO; daughters, Judy Dennis, Anaheim Hills, CA, Janet Kreutzer, Cedar Rapids, IA; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Myriah Dennis, brothers, Charles and John, and sisters, Opal Hoch and Dorothy Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the Dwight Presbyterian Church. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
