Florence C. Bottom
Florence C. Bottom, 83, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011. She was born September 4, 1927, at St. Clere, KS, the daughter of Murry and Lillian Everine Rice. She attended school in St. Clere and graduated from Emmett High School in 1945.
She worked at Hallmark Cards in Topeka and Kansas City before moving to the Havensville community in 1951. She spent her life raising her children, wallpapering, painting, cleaning houses, and babysitting for over 125 children.
Florence is survived by her children, Steven (Lyn) Bottom, Diane (Joe) Ballentine, Daryl (Linda) Bottom, and twins, Sharon Sanders and Karen Juelg; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Murrine Suttles and two brothers, Maurice (Fern) Rice and Louis (Darlene) Rice. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William.
Florence was cremated. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Havensville Christian Church in Havensville, KS. Inurnment will follow at the St. Clere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Havensville Christian Church, 201 North St., Havensville, KS 66432. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting arrangements.
