Flora Mae Schutter

Flora Mae Schutter, 93, formerly of Topeka, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006 at a Kansas City, MO hospital. She was born on April 6, 1912 in Stroud, OK, the daughter of John O. and Inez D. Bateman Hubbard. Flora Mae was employed as a motor winder and electrician for Jones Electric and Shrake Electric for 37 years before retiring. She was a long time member of Electrical Union No. 226 and served as president of the Womans Club of Topeka. Flora Mae married Harold D. Schutter on May 19, 1935 in Bonner Springs, KS. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Laurin W. Schutter and wife, Jane of Leawood, KS, three grandchildren, Laura Weiss and husband, Art of Joplin, MO, Stephen Schutter and wife, Karen of Lenexa and Dr. Jennifer Schutter-Seibold and husband, Paul of Parkville, MO., three great-grandchildren, Lauren Weiss, Carson and Brendan Schutter and one sister, Anna Channel. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Flora Mae will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
