Filomena L. Rodriguez, 82, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010.
She was born July 5, 1928 in Cebu City, Philippines, the daughter of Anacleto and Alexandra (Quintero) Lecera.
Filomena married Ignacio E. Rodriguez in Cebu City, Philippines. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Rogelio Rodriguez, Leonila Billau, Elias Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, Cecilia Dugaduga, Helen Teater, and Romel Rodriguez; 42 grandchildren, five who reside in Topeka, Anafe Hall, Luke Thompson, Lorraine Teater, Stephanie Teater and Calvin Teater; and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Noneta Sarte and a son, Obedidum Rodriguez.
Mrs. Rodriguez will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. A graveside ceremony will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2010 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd, Topeka, KS 66604.
