Fern L. Dickerson, 92, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
Fern was born in Flory, Missouri, on November 24, 1921, daughter of Bryan and Elsie (Cross) Harris. She married Jack Dickerson in Joplin on November 7, 1941, and they had four children.
Family was very important to Fern. She delighted in her grandchildren and provided loving care to Little Chris, Betsy, and many other Topeka children.
Many Topekans will remember Fern's gracious ways behind the counter at Dickerson Antiques in Fairlawn Plaza Mall.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; son, Richard; siblings, Aldene Hurst and Dalvin Harris.
She is survived by her children, Jack David and Janice Dickerson, Hurst, TX; Kristi Fern and Tony Saia, Topeka; Kelley Jayne and James Robinson, Topeka; daughter-in-law, Bette Dickerson, Omaha; grandchildren, Angela and Murl Mickey, John and Gail Dickerson, Sara English, Rachel and Justin Smith; eight great grandchildren; and brother, Donald Harris, Lee's Summit, MO.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19th, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66604.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
Private graveside services will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
