Fern Goff, 89, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
Fern Goff was born July 10, 1920 near Easton, Kansas, the daughter of Herman T. and Goldie (Connelly)Ala. She moved to Colorado with her parents at an early age and attended school in Hygiene, Colorado. She returned to Easton in 1931 where she attended schools until moving to Kansas City in 1938 to attend Kansas City Business College.
She was married to James W. Goff, December 25, 1941 at Easton, Kansas. He died May 27, 1994.
Mrs. Goff was employed by Myers Yearbooks from 1949 until 1963. She was then employed by Volume Shoe Corporation until she retired in 1982.
She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, UMW of the church, Past Matron and Honorary member of Easton Chapter #274, Order of the Eastern Star, Easton, Kansas, a life Member of Helena Chapter #210, OES of Topeka, Past Matrons of Helena Chapter, and Past Matrons & Past Patrons of Dist. #14, OES. She was formerly a member of Topeka Chapter of American Business Womens Association and a volunteer for Stormont-Vail Hospital & American Red Cross for over twenty-three years. She and her husband delivered Mobile Meals.
She is survived by several cousins.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604 followed by Eastern Star services. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
