Felicia Ann Hackney, 57, of Topeka, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 surrounded by her family.
She was born May 11, 1965, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Eunice and Geraldine (Fulton) Pleasant. She graduated from Topeka High School. She went to Vo Tech and obtained her CNA License.
Felicia was a member of Second Baptist Church since 2011. Prior to becoming a member of Second Baptist Church, she attended True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the kitchen committee with both churches and enjoyed the fellowship with other church members.
She had a passion for helping others and enjoyed volunteering in the community. She was an assistant track coach for the Topeka Blazers. She also enjoyed cooking, listening to music and her sister's, Stinky's hair. Felicia loved her children and grandchildren. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Felicia married Ray Hackney in January 1994 in their family home in Topeka. She is survived by her husband; her children, Shakitha Hackney, Shakila Pleasant, Marie (Joshua) Cooper, Trevor (Tricia) Pleasant, Katrece (Orlando) Johnson, Toneesha (Nelson) Hackney and son in law, Morris; grandchildren, Alontrua, James, Lamont, Jahmari, Taevious, Elontae, Deslyne, Cornelius, Jalil, DontreVeon, Dontavious, Dontae, Ricardo, Jayden, Trevon, Quincy and Novah; great grandchildren, Emalacia, Emanuel, Emarion, Eulayla, Emonie and Renyah; special granddaughter, Serenity; best friend and niece, Tamisha Brown; her siblings, Tina (Rick), Dawn, Pamela, Julia, Derrick, Monique, Alexis, Andre and Moriah. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cynthia; two nieces, Dawnisha Lowery and Tourquoise Abercrombie; one nephew, Aaron Merriweather; sister in laws, Mary Jo, Sheila Ann and Tina Hackney and brother in law, James Griffin.
A celebration of Felicia's life will be held at 11:00 am., Friday, June 10, 2022 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. Her family will greet friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Blazers Track Team.
