Faye L. Patch, 92, Topeka, passed away, Monday, September 5th at McCrite Plaza. She was born in Meriden, July 2, 1913, the daughter of Shell and Lillie Cook. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her husband Dean and son Gary Dean and wife Marlyn of Seminole, Florida, and two grandsons, Mark and David with several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Faye attended KU. She worked as a supervisor for the Federal Government. She was a well known tennis player and was ranked nationally in table tennis. The Cook family had a dance band within their family and Faye played the pump organ, their friends all joined them on Saturday nights for what they called the "Kitchen Sweat". Faye will be missed by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Patch will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
