Everett Guy "Bud" Henderson, Jr. , 85, of Topeka, passed away, Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Colmery-ONeil Veterans Hospital in Topeka.
He was born November 20, 1919 in Topeka the son of Everett Guy and Pearl Madge Duncan Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy February 3, 2001. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Leroy and Harold and one sister Rosalie Colgrove. Survivors include: one son, Dennis of Topeka, and one brother Glen and his wife Mary Henderson, Topeka.
Bud was a decorated military veteran serving in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a member of a tank crew in the Third Armoured Spearhead Division. Bud fought in several major battles including the Battle of The Bulge.
Bud was employed in the printing trade as a plate maker and negative stripper. He had worked for Hall Lithographing, Hall Directory and Standard Hart Printing.
He was a member of Capitol Post #1, American Legion.
Mr. Henderson will lie in state after 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas.
