Everett A. Dennis, 83, Topeka, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
Everett was the son of the late Allen and Bonnie (Plummber) Dennis of Nevada, MO. He attended Nevada High School and Warren College in Kansas City, MO. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed at KP&L for 42 years as a line foreman.
He was a member of the I.B.E.W., American Legion Post 1, a past member of the Shawnee Boat and Ski Club and Toppers Motorcycle club. His hobbies were golfing, fishing and hunting.
Everett married Ethel L. Beshore on March 5, 1949. She survives. Other survivors include son, Mark A. (Nancy) Dennis; daughter, Denise A. (Edward) Dean; 4 grandsons; and 1 great grandson, all of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Dennis.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Everett will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
