Evelyn Meade, 94, of Topeka, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at her home.
She was born November 26, 1918, in Topeka, the daughter of Holmes and Dorothy Scott Meade.
Evelyn received her B.A. degree from Kansas University and attended Katherine Gibbs College, Boston, Massachusetts. She was active in the Junior League of Topeka and worked for many years at the Meade Insurance Company.
She is a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral.
She is survived by her beloved Ben Wilson.
Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Episcopal Cathedral, 701 SW 8th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603; The Capper Foundation, 3500 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66604 or to Channel 11 KTWU, 1700 SW College Avenue, Topeka KS 66621.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
