Evelyn Lena Stitt Falk, 93, of Topeka, died Friday, December 10, 2004 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on April 25, 1911, near Michigan Valley in Osage County, KS. to Austin and Tillie Jensen Stitt. She was graduated from Lyndon High School in 1929 and received BS and MS degrees from Emporia State University and did extended work at Kansas University. She taught school for nearly 50 years. She taught in one room country schools, and Quenemo and Lyndon schools in Osage County. She taught 17 years in Topeka School District 501 and retired in 1976. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and held offices at different times. After retirement, she spent many years doing various volunteer services. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Yomac Sunday School Class, the Kansas State Teachers Association, Topeka Area of Retired Teachers Association, Auxiliary of Post No. 1650 V.F.W., the Apt Prime Timers, the Topeka Genealogy Society and was a past member of the American Association of Retired Persons. She was married to Delbert Burkdoll in 1932. He preceded her in death in 1961. She married LaVerne A. Falk in 1965. He survives. Other survivors include one sister, Sylvia Flint of Lyndon, Ks., and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services were held. Burial took place in Mount Hope Cemetery.
