Evelyn "Grandma" Hales, 81, of Topeka, passed away, Sunday, October 12, 2008.
Mrs. Hales was born December 23, 1926 in Natchitoches, LA.
Evelyn married Darvin "Shine" Hales December 25, 1945 in Leesville, LA. He preceded her in death March 2, 2003.
Mrs. Hales is survived by her children, Ginger Powell and her husband Jerry, Topeka; J. Darvin Hales and his wife Linda, New Iberia, LA; J. Kenneth Hales and his wife Sandy, Bend, OR; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hales will lie in state and the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel with a scripture reading at 6:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Topeka Cemetery Garden Chapel.
