Evelyn L. Fox, 86, Topeka, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at a local care center.
Evelyn was born May 24, 1920 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of William F. and Madge (Cord) Vendel.
She retired from Sally's Knit Shop in Westboro after 15 years of service and was well known for making porcelain dolls.
She married Holland K. Fox on May 27, 1938 in Oskaloosa. He died January 3, 2004. Survivors include son, Gary Fox, Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Vicki Corwin, Topeka; 19 Grandchildren; 23 Great grandchildren; 8 Great great grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Garren, Winchester. She was preceded in death by sons; Rolland K. Fox and Robert L. Fox; and a daughter, Janet Kerns.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Evelyn will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
