Eva Jane Schrock, 97, of Topeka, KS passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Midland Hospice House.

She was born on July 19, 1927 in Whitesville MO to her parents Henry and Alma Jackson. Eva was the youngest of their 10 children. She attended a one room school in Whitesville. Following the death of her father, the family moved to St. Joseph, MO where Eva worked at S.S Kresge's Five and Dime and later Seitz and Company.

She met Ronald Gene Schrock on a blind date and they married September 27, 1962. They lived in St. Joseph, Kansas City, and eventually Topeka.

They had three children, Martha, John, and Cindy. Upon moving to Kansas City, Eva became a homemaker.

She loved to sew and do crafts. Even sewing for some of their children's school teachers, and sewing Martha's wedding dress. She also loved to cook and have big family dinners.

Eva helped with Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and attended a multitude of Glee Cub and Band Concerts, and what seemed like endless piano recitals.

Eva lived in the family home until the age of 94 when her health required to have assisted living.

She was preceded in death by her husband "Gene" February 14, 2012, her parents, Henry and Alma Jackson, and siblings Harold Jackson, Flossie Corle, Howard Jackson, Leta Thomas, Wilson Jackson, Ruby Miller, Ruth Sutton, Robert Jackson, and Dixie Ziph. She was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Velma Barnes.

She is survived by her children, Martha (Ted) Eve; Olathe, John (Debi) Schrock; Topeka, Cindy (Don) Schneider; Topeka. Her six grandchildren, Julie (Kevin) Fecteau; Carefree, AZ, Rob (Rachael) Eve; Baldwin City, KS, Emmily (Trevor) Henkle; Topeka, Meggan Schrock; Shawnee, KS, Clayton (Jen) Schneider; Topeka, Christopher Schneider; Topeka, as well as nine great-grandchildren, Kyle, Daniel, and Eric Fecteau, Cameron and Kaylee Eve, Brynn and Colter Henkle, and Maggie and Asher Schneider. She is also survived by her niece, JoAnn Whittington; St.Joseph, and nephew, Jackie Sutton; Arlington, Texas.

She was affectionately known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Nena.

A visitation will take place on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 9:00AM at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home- Midtown Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66604, followed by funeral services beginning at 10:00AM with Father Tim Haberkorn officiating. Graveside interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66606.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jed McKee and Dr. Steven Seals, as well as their staff for their attentive care, as well as the kind staff of Midland Hospice House. The family would also like to give great thanks to the caring staff of Celebration Villa (Atria) - there are too many to thank - but thank you all.
