Eva Nell Swafford

Eva Nell Swafford, 84, of Topeka, passed away Mon., Feb. 16, 2009.
She was born Sept. 4, 1924 in Clay County, MO, the daughter of Roy C. and Myrtle Eva (Titus) Holt.

Mrs. Swafford was a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary Post No. 1650 and volunteered at the V.A. Hospital in Topeka.

Eva married Paul W. Swafford on Sept. 26, 1942 in Excelsior Springs, MO. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Charles Swafford. Survivors include her son, Dave Swafford; her daughter, Merry Glover; 5 grandchildren, Mark, Ian, Megan, Brett, and Zachary; and a great-grandson, Nicholas.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 19, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1320 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Swafford will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wed. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m.
