Eureva Smith

Eureva "Bebe" Smith, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008.

She was born on Dec. 14, 1918, near Bushong, KS to Hubert David Rowlen and Mary Mabel Rowley.

She was married to Glenn "Bus" Smith in Topeka, Kansas on Aug. 8, 1936. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1964.

Two brothers, Joe Rowlen and Glen Skeen also preceded her in death.

She lived in Harveyville and Eskridge communities the early part of her life, 13 years in Wakarusa, KS and in Topeka since 1965. She had been a homemaker and worked in the Auburn-Washburn District No. 437 in food service for 18 years, 13 of those at Wanamaker Grade School. After retiring she worked during legislative sessions for 15 years in the document room at the State Capitol.

She was a member of West Side Christian Church; Esther Group and Golden Oldies. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, baker of scrumptious cinnamon rolls and sticky pecan rolls to which the loving name of "Buns" was given her by friends. A coconut cream, chocolate, lemon or berry pie was "expected" by many. Anything to do with heart and hands were among her many accomplishments. She loved her family and friends and was an inspiration and wonderful example to those who knew her. The Lord Jesus increases His army of angels as He welcomes her Home.

Survivors include a son: Larry Smith(Lucy) of Littleton, CO; daughters: Elaine Williams (George) of Topeka; Janice Heaps (Mel) of Broomfield; CO, Barbara Means (Jim) of Lakewood, CO; Glenda Senne (Stan) of Topeka; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and many relatives and loved ones.
