Eugene H. Lane, Sr.

Eugene H. Lane, Sr., 93, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014.
Eugene was born December 16, 1920, in Onaga, KS, son of Howard and Laura (Dierking) Lane.
He graduated from Washburn University and attended officer's school at Harvard University.
Eugene honorably served during WWII in the US Navy.
He married Barbara Cue on April 25, 1944. She preceded him in death on July 22, 1985.
Eugene owned and operated Lane's Grocery in downtown Topeka.
Eugene is survived by his three children, Harold (Jane) Lane, Topeka; Eugene H. (Carol) Lane, Jr., Topeka; and Nancy (Steve) Gierach, Tinley Park, IL; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-granchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Grace Cathedral Columbarium.
