Esther Sophia Palmberg,96, Meriden, died Sunday, February 13, 2005 at a local emergency room. She was born May 22, 1908 in Meriden to Albert F. and Anna Larson Palmberg.
She graduated from Meriden High School and moved to California in the late 1930s. She worked as a riveter building airplanes during World War II and continued working in the Aircraft Industry until she retired from Lockheed-Martin in 1973.
She moved back to Meriden from Burbank, CA in 1998 and lived with her sister Hazel at 109 S. Palmberg Street until her death.
Esther was preceded in death by three brothers: Carl, George and Earl and two sisters: Vera Hanson and Ruth Fowlkes. She is survived by a sister: Hazel Rouse, Meriden and a sister-in-law: Mary Rowene Palmberg of Topeka and a brother-in-law: Marshall Hanson, Salina and eight nephews and one niece.
Graveside services will be held at the Meriden Cemetery on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Meriden United Methodist Church, PO Box 520, Meriden, KS. 66512
