Esther Mae Henderson

Esther Mae (Heston) Henderson, 92, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 in Topeka, KS. She was born November 19, 1916, to David Marshall and Eunice Mae (George) Heston near St. Marys, KS. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 3 sisters. She was a 1934 graduate of Wamego High School and a 1935 graduate of Stewart Beauty Academy in Topeka. She married Tracy M. Henderson of Ellis, KS, in Blackfoot, ID on September 30, 1939. Tracy proceded her in death in 1993. Survivors include: three daughters, Colleen (Butch) Walstrom, Dorothy (Dick) Taylor, and Janet (Jimmy) Gast; and son, Kenneth (Diane) Henderson, all of Topeka, KS. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home with private family interment at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery & Mausoleum.
