Ernestine "Tina" Burghart, 67, Tecumseh, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at a local hospital.
Tina was born August 1, 1946 in Rocky Mount, NC, the daughter of Robert and Ernestine (Curtis) Rogers.
She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1964 and attended Emporia Teachers College and graduated from Washburn University.
She taught History in the Santa Fe Trail School District and retired from the State of Kansas after 31 years of service.
Tina married Jacob "Jack" Burghart on October 26, 1974 in Topeka. He died March 6, 2014. Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Lynn Burghart, Tecumseh; brother, Robert L. (Belinda Lee) Rogers, Louisville, KY; and mother, Ernestine Rogers, Topeka. She was also preceded in death by her father, Robert Rogers; and sister, Deborah Rogers.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
