Ena F. Barr, 93, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born November 28, 1910 at Havensville, KS the daughter of Elie J. and Bessie (Roderick) Lefebvre. She attended Highland Elementary School, Highland, KS; Onaga High School, and was a graduate of Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, Kansas. While attending school she worked as a Harvey Girl in Trinidad, CO.
Mrs. Barr worked as a school teacher in Pottawatomie and Jackson Counties.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Ena married Dale H. Barr June 30, 1938 at Holton, KS . He preceded her in death July 25, 1972. Survivors include: two daughters, Donna Freel, Topeka; Linda Johnston, Platte City, MO; one son, Roger D. Barr Topeka, KS; two sisters, Eunice Zahn, Iola; Elinor Baldwin, Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Topeka. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 pm Tuesday at the Admatha Cemetery near Flush, Kansas. She will lie in state after 12:00 noon Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
