Emmett "Mac" Edmond McGreevy, 84, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at a local hospital.

Mac was born May 20, 1922 in Axtell, the son of John and Mary (Miller) McGreevy.

He grew up in Seneca and served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

Mac was a lineman for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1984.

He was married to Goldie Trickel. She died May 20, 1998. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert McGreevy and Francis McGreevy; and a sister, Delores Galbraith. Survivors include daughters, Lenita Hunter, Cheryl TenEyck, Carolyn Retana, Sondra Triebwasser; sons, Thomas Sharp and Clifford "Gene" McGreevy; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a brother, John McGreevy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Mac will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 pm on Monday and visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emmett E. McGreevy Memorial Fund, c/o Capital City Bank, 3710 SW Topeka, Topeka, Kansas 66609.
