Emmett E. Green, 81, Topeka passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at his home. He was born Nov. 12, 1923 in Topeka the son of Jasper W. and Anna M. Walters Green. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and was a veteran of World War II. He was headquartered at the Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA. He married Theresa Doris King on January 12, 1952. She passed away January 5, 1998. Also preceding him in death, a brother, Jackie Green and step brother, Donald Meggison. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge. He is survived by: his eldest daughter, Reuille Green and her husband, Charles C. Curl, Overland Park; his middle daughter and her husband, Sandra and Erich Newman, Topeka; and his son, Harold E. Green, Topeka; a granddaughter and her husband, Brandi and Buddy Kester, a grandson, Christopher Newman, his brother and his wife, Charles and June Green, Topeka; step sister, Mary Chenoweth, Michigan; three sister-in-laws, Irene Green, Albuquerque, NM; June Meggison, Topeka; Fran King, Topeka; and18 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Interment will be private.
