Emma May Smith Osborne, 92, of Topeka, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021.
She was born October 27, 1929, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Crable) Smith. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1948.
Emma was a homemaker and took care of her children, Dan and Melody. She would do odd and end jobs through the home. She worked for Sears as a gardening associate and retired in 1972.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Community Church, of Topeka.
Emma had a passion for working in her yard and gardening. She also enjoyed meeting new people, watching TV, especially Gun Smoke and talking on the phone with her grandchildren and other relatives. Emma and Ozzie loved to travel around the US and visited 46 of the states.
Emma married Ulysses E. Osborne on August 2, 1949 in Denver, CO. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2016. Survivors include her children, Dan (Pam) Osborne and Melody (Steven) Osborne-Samuels; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and nine great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Joann Lyden and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and three sisters.
A visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604. A graveside Service will be held at 11:30 am. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Penwell Gabel Funeral Home in care of Dan Osborne to help offset funeral expenses, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
