Emma Weber, 101, died on September 30, 2014, at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
Born on April 21, 1913, to Louis and Marie (Meier) Kloepper in Everest, Kansas, she graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1931.
In 1936 she moved to Chicago, where she lived and worked for 13 years. During World War II she was employed as a stenographer by the Navy Department and Armour Research Foundation. On May 12, 1949, Emma married George Weber, who passed away in 1977. They lived in Nampa, ID, Topeka, and then Sunflower, KS, before permanently settling in Topeka in 1958. She worked for 16 years at the Kansas State Department of Revenue, until her retirement in 1975.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Topeka, for over 60 years, and she lived in the Topeka Presbyterian Manor community for 19 years.
Emma is survived by her daughter Carolyn Weber and son-in-law Neil Jacobowitz, of New York, NY; her step-son Jerry Weber and his family, of Lancaster, CA; her sister Irene Garcia of Camdenton, MO; her brother Don Kloepper, of Effingham; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Her sisters Frieda Gigstad and Marie Linder Leigh and her brother William Kloepper preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 3, at First Lutheran Church. Private family burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Topeka Presbyterian Manor or to First Lutheran Church.
