Emma Jeandrum Tilley

Emma Jane Drum Tilley, 76, of Topeka passed away Saturday, May 22, 2004 in Midland Hospice. She was born in Emporia on March 20, 1928 the daughter of Linza and Marjorie Barncord Drum.

Jane graduated from Emporia State Teacher's College in 1949. She was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, a charter member of Topeka Advertising Club, Queen of Job's Daughters and First Christian Church of Topeka.

Her working career was spent as a Regional Secretary for Armco Steel for over 28 years, retiring in June 1986. She then worked in the office at United Methodist Home.

In November 1993, she married Verl Tilley, he passed away in February of 2000. Survivors include her stepdaughter Pat Lee of Topeka, nieces Susan Hornsby of Baton Rouge, LA and Sharyn Williford of Oxford, MS and her nephew Steven Wright of Gulfport MS

Mrs. Tilley will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town on Monday from 1-9:00pm. The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning from 10-11:00am, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be held in Maplewood-Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, KS on Tuesday, at 3:00 pm.
