Elnora Louise Deal, 96 of Auburn, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Midland Hospice. She was born on October 23, 1913 in Ogden, Kansas to Earl Monroe Marston and Gladys Marston.
Elnora graduated from Osage City High School in Osage City, Kansas. On April 20, 1946, she married Frank Deal in Kansas City, Kansas. Frank and Elnora were the owners of Deal's Cafe in Downtown Topeka and then later owned Silver Spur Cafe in West Topeka. She was a breeder of Performance and Running American Quarter Horses. Elnora also raised white German Shepherds. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Elnora is survived by two sisters Helen Albright and Mary Hunt, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; four step children and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 16, 1971, her brother Roy Marston who passed away in WWII, a sister Ruth Hazlett and an infant brother Walter Marston.
A prayer service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17 with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
