Elmer P. Ramseyer

Elmer P. Ramseyer, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at his home. He was born on August 18, 1919 in Sperry, OK, the son of Elmer P. and Minnie Ramseyer. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Elmer moved to Topeka in 1942. He was employed by IH Mill Company for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Homebuilders Sunday School Class and the Red Dale Camping Club for several years. Elmer married Althea Gilby on November 7, 1942 in Richmond, CA. She survives. Other survivors include four granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Ethel. Elmer was preceded in death by one daughter, Althea Pearce in 2005. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Elmer will lie in state after Noon Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Memorial contributions may be given to Grace United Methodist Church, 2627 S.W. Western, Topeka, KS 66611.
