Elmer Dean Boydston, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Midland Hospice. He was born on December 12, 1923 in Oskaloosa, Kansas to Henry R. and Anna H. (Ruge) Boydston.
Dean graduated from McClouth High School in 1941. On June 1, 1946 he married Lola L. Thompson. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving during WWII. Dean served with the 8th Air Force. He flew 30 missions and earned 4 air medals. He was a past member of Westminster Presbyterian Church; Active Prime Timers and the American Legion.
Dean is survived by his wife Lola; two sons, Stephen Boydston and James (Jackie) Boydston all of Topeka and two granddaughters, Jessie Boydston of Riley, KS and Amelia Boydston of Topeka.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Topeka Chapter, 4125 SW Gage Center Dr, Suite LL-15, Topeka, KS 66604.
