Ellamae Lyon Branson, 90, Topeka, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014.
She was born May 23, 1923, in Fredonia, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Ruth (Foreman) Lyon.
After moving to Topeka, she attended Clarks Business School. She worked for the state and also the Health Department of Topeka. She later volunteered at Stormont-Vail Hospital for over 10 years.
Mrs. Branson was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her children, Ron E. Branson, Dianna L. (Ken) Strohm and Donna J. (Terry) Coover; two sisters, Wilma Keebert, Mildred Boster; three brothers, Kenneth Lyon, Lewis Lyon, Gerald Lyon and Frank Lyon; five grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph and seven siblings.
Services will be at 11 am, Friday, January 10, 2014 at First Church of the Nazarene, visitation will be 10 to 11 am, Friday at the church, one hour prior to services.
