Elizabeth Rachel Eaton, 93, of Topeka, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010.
She was born May 5, 1917 in Topeka, the daughter of James O. and Grace (Logan) Miller. She was a 1936 graduate of Topeka High School. She was employed by Stauffer Publications for 25 years, retiring in 1977.
She was a lifetime member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. She and her husband were avid fans of the Grand Ole Opera in Nashville, Tennessee. The Eatons were friends with several country music stars; some would stop and visit them in Topeka while on tour.
Elizabeth married William F. Eaton, Sr. on August 16, 1941 in Leavenworth, Kansas. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, William F. Eaton, Jr., two sisters, Helen Hengelfelt, Elsie Zirkle and two brothers, Dutch and Delbert Miller.
Mrs. Eaton was cremated. Graveside inurnment ceremonies will be 11 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Abbey Chapel at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
