Elizabeth Caudle

Elizabeth Ann Caudle ,84, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 25 at Aldersgate Village where she had lived for 10 years.

Elizabeth "Betty" was born February 10, 1922 in Detroit, MI., the daughter of Hans and Corinne Keydel.

She graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.

She married James Armil Caudle on April 1, 1950 in Grosse Point, MI. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1994. They moved to Topeka with their three children in 1964. Elizabeth loved art, traveling, gardening and reading. She was a member of the John Haupt Chapter of D.A.R., the Women's Club of Topeka, St. David's Episcopal Church and the Topeka Art Guild.

She volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels, delivering meals each week. She also resumed her love of painting later in life, and had paintings on exhibit several times at various locations in Topeka.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Ricci and her husband Robert, Topeka; her son James Caudle and his wife Diane, Topeka; her son David Caudle and his wife Chrissy, San Diego, CA. Survivors also include 5 grandchildren; Jennifer Ricci, Chicago; Annie Ricci, Chicago; Brian Ricci, Kansas City; Rachel Ricci, Lawrence and Jason Caudle, Lawrence.

Mrs. Caudle was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday April 3, 2006 at St. David's Episcopal Church with inurnment to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. David's Episcopal Church, 3916 SW. 17th St., Topeka, KS., 66604, the Good Samaritan Fund at Aldersgate Village, 7220 SW. Asbury Dr., Topeka, KS., 66614 or to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW. Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
