Elizabeth "Beth" Ann Briggs, 83, Topeka, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at Midland Hospice House. Elizabeth was born Oct. 11, 1924 in Wetmore, KS the daughter of Ross W. and Frances L. (Sutton) Alumbaugh.
Elizabeth was an executive secretary for the Gas Service Company before retiring in 1986 after 33yrs of service. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church; Quota Club; Women's Division Chamber of Commerce and volunteered with a group at Gage Center Christmas Club.
Survivors include brother, Waymond Alumbaugh of Topeka; a sister Beulah M. Holtmeyer of Topeka; 6 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Preceding Beth in death were her parents and her brother Ross Burton "Burt" Alumbaugh.
Mrs. Briggs will lie in state after 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel 1321 W. 10th Avenue. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or to the organization of the donor's choice.
