Elizabeth Ann Florance, 20, of Scranton, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at KU Medical Center. She was born on December 21, 1988 in Topeka, the daughter of Kevin S. and Lora M. (Evarts) Florance. Elizabeth was home schooled and was attending Washburn University to become a nurse. At Washburn, she was a member of Chi Alpha and LEAP, a member of First Assembly Of God Church and volunteered at St. Francis Hospital in the NICU. It was her ambition to specialize in infant care. Elizabeth had previously traveled with the church youth group on a missions trip to Roatan, Honduras and it was her intent to return with them again in the future. Survivors include her parents, Kevin and Lora Florance, her siblings, Kevin, Christopher and Amber, and her maternal grand-parents, Rollo and Dorothy Evarts. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly Of God Church. Burial will follow in Scranton Cemetery. Elizabeth will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Chi Alpha Student Ministries c/o First Assembly Of God Church, 500 SW 27th St., Topeka, KS 66611.
