Eleanore Odell Rost, of Topeka, passed away January 14, 2009 at Brewster Place Retirement Community.
She was born January 17, 1910, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Dr. Francis B. Odell and Harriette Miles Odell. She attended Washburn University and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Geology.
She married Francis J. Rost May 28, 1933, in Topeka Kansas. He preceded her in death March 26, 1987.
Survivors include a son Thomas Odell Rost and his wife, Carole, a daughter Harriette Anne Macnish and her husband James; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and thirteen step-great grandchildren.
She was a member of Chapter CS of P.E.O., Western Sorosis, Junior Louvre Art Club, Junior Social Service Club, Minerva Club, National Society of Colonial Dames of America, Topeka Art Guild, Friends of the Library and Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be at Grace Cathedral, January 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Private interment will take place in Oakridge Cemetery, Perry, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brewster Place Foundation, Topeka Public Library, or Grace Cathedral.
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
