Eleanor J. Bartlett
Eleanor J. Bartlett, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at Plaza West Regional Health Center in Topeka. She was born July 30, 1936 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Samuel and Mary L. Hill Allen.
She had resided in Topeka for the past 15 years. She was employed as a waitress in food service for several years and later with Sam's Club as a food demonstrator.
Eleanor married Richard "Dick" Bartlett on August 20, 1982 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her three siblings. Survivors include three children, Becky (Dwight) Kirkwood, Keith Cowger and Traci Cowger, three grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew and Sarah and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Colin.
Eleanor will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Cremation will follow and private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Plaza West Regional Health Center, 1570 SW Westport Dr., Topeka, KS 66604.
