Eleanor J. Brown, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2006 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born on March 16, 1924 in Berryton, the daughter of Roy and Geraldine Green Flohrschutz. Eleanor grew up in Berryton and graduated from Berryton High School in 1941 and then attended Stricklers Business College. She had resided in Topeka since 1942. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Shawnee Country Club. She was employed by Prudential Insurance Company, Santa Fe Railway, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Jostens Yearbook Company and then Copper Craft for 32 years before retiring in 2001. Eleanor married Raymond F. Brown on October 6, 1961 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1991. Survivors include one sister, Irene Ginder of Topeka, two step-sons, Philip Brown of Atlanta, GA, Steven Brown of Wichita, one niece, Janet Myers of Colorado Springs, CO and one nephew, Rob Ginder of Topeka and a host of caring friends. Eleanor enjoyed golf, bridge, volunteering at the V.A. and traveling with her faithful friend. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Klassee Chapel at First United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will take place in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
