Eleanor A. Daniel, 95, of Topeka, died Sunday, September 25, 2005 at Lexington Park Nursing Facility.
Eleanor was born February 5, 1910 at Blue Mound, KS, the daughter of John O. and Nannie Johnson Thoms.
She grew up in Osawatomie, Ks and graduated from High School there in 1929. After which, she was employed by the state before moving to Topeka in 1944; where she was employed by Hallmark Cards.
Eleanor was married to Neil V. Daniel in 1945, he passed away February 1975.
She was a member of Central Congregational Church for over 50 years and the Women's Fellowship and Group Eleven of the Church. She was also a member of the Topeka Travel Club and the Y.W.C.A..
Survivors include one niece, Connie Keast, Osawatomie, KS; four nephews, Dan and Gary Ricketts both of Meriden, KS; Joe Ricketts, Plano, TX; Doug Evans, Dawson, GA; three great nieces and three great nephews.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Earl Thoms of Bonners Ferry, ID and Carl Thoms of Osawatomie, KS, and two sisters: Frances Ricketts of Meriden, KS and Naomi Matthews of Dawson, GA.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will be at Topeka Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Central Congregational Church, 1248 SW Buchanan,Topeka, KS 66604.
