ElDora Irene Hummer, 88, of Topeka, passed away, Monday July 21, 2008 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born February 4, 1920 in Hoisington, Kansas, the daughter of Jonas and Irma Whitted Menges. She graduated from ManhattanHigh School in 1938 and was a nursing graduate of the Hertzler Clinic in Halstead, Kansas.
She married Warren O. Hummer June 8, 1941 at the IOOF-Rebekah Home in Manhattan. She was preceded in death by her husband and a granddaughter. Survivors include her daughter, Sue Hummer Florence, Manhattan, KS; two sons, Warren C. Hummer, Grapevine, TX; J. Franklin Hummer, Shawnee, KS; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel. Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Cr., Topeka 66606 or to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd., Topeka66617.
