E.I. "Andy" Anderson, 79, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009 at his Residence.
He was born on July 28, 1929 in Delavan, Kansas to Ernest Theodore and Irene Rose (Huggins) Anderson. Andy was a 53-year resident of Topeka. He retired after 40 years of service in 1988 from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Andy was a member of Golden Rule Lodge #90, Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite Bodies, Life Member and 1995 Potentate of Arab Shriners, Cabiri, long-time Member of Arab Temple Clown Unit; 1984 Clown of the year, Chief Aide for Three Potentates. He was also a Member of Twin Lakes Shrine Club; Arab Hospital Dads; Transportation Unit; DeMolay Knights; Legion of Honor; Camel Herders; Past Camaxtli, Order of Quetzalcoatl; and Royal Order of Jesters.
Andy is survived by his Children, June (James, dec.) Parre of Topeka, Steve (Sheila) Anderson of Topeka, and Stan (Tammy) Anderson of Topeka, two brothers, Floyd E Anderson and Wayne D Anderson, both of Raytown, MO, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Andy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, C.J. "Chuck" Anderson, who passed away in 1993.
Andy will lie in state after 2:00 pm, on Thursday, February 26th, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, with a visitation to follow from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27th, 10:00 am, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Rev. Lynn Lamberty of Highland Park United Methodist Church will be officiating. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Arab Temple Travel Fund 1305 S. Kansas Ave. Topeka, KS 66612.
