Edythe E. Coleman, 93, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010.
She was born December 24, 1916 in Courtland, KS, the daughter of Martin A. and Hannah L. (Peterson) Larson. She was a graduate of Courtland High School, and Strickler's Business College, Topeka. She was employed by the State of Kansas, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Topeka over 70 years.
Survivors include her sisters, Edna Dicke, and Winifred Krueger both of Topeka, and Delores Long of Garden City. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Klasse Chapel at the First United Methodist Church, 600 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66603. Mrs. Coleman will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th St., Topeka, KS. A second funeral service will also be held at 2 p.m., Friday at the Memorial Covenant Church in Courtland, KS. Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, KS. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Suber Funeral Home, Bellville, KS is assisting the family in Courtland. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
