Edwin C. Johnson, 91, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016.
He was born March 24, 1925, in Santa Rosa, California, the son of Edwin E. and Regina (Malloof) Johnson .
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Ed was employed by Goodyear for 31 years, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Johnson was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church of Topeka.
Ed married Janice A. Johnson in September of 1996. She preceded him in death in 2015.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherrie L. (Greg) Contee and sons Robert L. (Amy) Sipp and Thomas A. (Paige) Sipp. He was preceded in death by daughter Teresa A. (Randy) McPhail and son Larry W. Sipp.
Ed enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing and his family most of all.
Ed will lie in state after 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604 where the family will receive friends and relatives from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. that evening. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 S.W. 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606.
