Edward William "Bud" Beaman, Jr., 85, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
He was born January 5, 1928 in Topeka, the son of Edward William and Anne (Saunders) Beaman, Sr. He was a graduate of Topeka High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II under General MacArthur and also served in the Korean War.
Mr. Beaman retired from United Artist Theaters in 1989.
He was a member of Philip Billard VFW Post No. 1650 where he served on the Funeral Honor Guard and was also a member of the VFW Military Order of the Cootie of the U.S.
Bud married Dorothy S. Wyllie on December 4, 1948. She survives. Other survivors include four children, Nancy (Joe) Slonecker, Trenton, MO, Carman (Bill) Lee, Euless, TX, Bruce (Mitzi) Beaman, San Antonio, TX and Lori (Rick) Reynolds, Tuscumbia, MO; 12 grandchildren, Angie (Jim) Bonderer, Chillicothe, MO, Jenny (Steven) Jackson, Chillicothe, MO, Matt (Lauren) Griffith, San Diego, CA, Josh Beaman, Rapid City, SD, Brandon Beaman, Rapid City, SD, Jessica (Andrew) Burris, Eldon, MO, Rachel Reynolds, Eldon, MO, Tyler Reynolds, Eldon, MO, Emily Ziegler, North Richland Hills, TX, Alexis Simmons, Rapid City, SD, Danielle Reynolds, Springfield, MO and Courtney Reynolds, Tuscumbia, MO; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Phyllis Beaman.
Mr. Beaman was cremated. A family gathering will be from 1-5 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Family Center, 1940 NW Central, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Philip Billard VFW Post No. 1650, 3110 SW Huntoon St., Topeka, KS 66604.
