EDWARD (BREEZY) STORRER
Memorial services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, June 25, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel for Edward (Breezy) Storrer. Mr. Storrer died Wednesday, June 21,at a Topeka hospital. He was cremated.
Mr. Storrer was born at Lamont, Kansas, April 15, 1921, the son of Edward A. and Nettie Ehnes Storrer. He was married to Phyllis Elizabeth Mudge, May 23, 1944 at Gridley, Kansas. She preceded him in death June 10, 2004. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Storrer was a truck mechanic, retiring in 1985 from Noller Motors after thirty years of service. He was employed by the State Highway Commission from 1945 to 1955.
He served in World War II and flew thirty-five missions as a ball-turret gunner on a B-17 with the 15th Air Force stationed in Italy. He was awarded a Purple Heart after being wounded while on a bombing mission.
Mr. Storrer was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Second Bomb Group Association.
