Edward M. Snook, 86, of Topeka, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011.
Edward was born May 20, 1925, in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Edward W. and Daisy (Tucker) Snook. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Edward was united in marriage to Bethuelle Cornelius in 1953. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local # 1445, Topeka Lodge 17 A.F. & A.M., Arab Shrine and American Legion Post #1.
Edward is survived by his wife Beth Snook, Topeka; four grandchildren, Christi Brand, Shelli Clark, Paul Swatzell, Shalisa Fralick; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and in laws, JoAnna Cornelius, LaVon Lord and Kay (Nancy) Cornelius.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son, Robert Swatzell, brothers in law, Arnold L. Lord, Wylie Cornelius and AJ Cornelius.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will be at Topeka Cemetery. Edward will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6th, at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131-3597.
