Edward D. Marchant, Jr., 78, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, Aug 7, 2021.
Born, April 6, 1943, in Hazlehurst, MS, he was the son of Edward D. Marchant Sr. and Virdee (Graham) Marchant and attended high school in Germany where his father was stationed with the US Army. Ed returned to the states to attend the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg and Washburn University.
Ed was employed as a project manager for Douglas Construction Company and Vincent Roofing and retired in 2003. He enjoyed his time as an adjunct Professor in computer science at Washburn University. Mr. Marchant was a member of the University United Methodist Church in Topeka, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and was a member of the Washburn Alumni Association.
Edward enjoyed all things "tech", watching sports and celebrating holidays with his family.
Edward married Susan Baird on June 8, 1967 in Topeka, KS. Survivors include his wife, Susan Marchant, daughter, Mary "Meg" Elizabeth (Scott) Wickham, son Graham Rosser (Josie) Marchant, grandchildren; Molly and Madeline Bush, Jacob and Hannah Marchant. Ed had step grandchildren and step great grandchildren as well. He is also survived by his brother Daniel (Fran) Marchant (FL). He was proceeded in death by his parents.
