Edward L. High

Edward L. "Ed" High, 72, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010.
Edward was born June 4, 1938 in Brookfield, MO, the son of Joseph O. and Katherine M. (Christian) High. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1956.
He worked for Adams Business Forms for 44 years, retiring in 2000.
He had served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Quivira Heights Church of Christ where he had served as a deacon and worked in the bus ministry.
Ed married Nancy Kelly on April 4, 1958 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Tracey (Bill) Westling, Linda High, all of Topeka; son, Mark (Liz) High, Portland, ME; grandchildren, James and Jena Westling, Zoe and Isaac High, and mother, Katherine High, Topeka. He was preceded in death by his father.
Ed was a loving husband, a wonderful provider, and a great dad and grandfather.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Ed will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
