Edward F. Irwin, 80, of Topeka, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, in Wichita.
Edward was a division maintenance foreman for Kansas Department of Transportation for 44 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Edward was born Jan. 17, 1930, to Boyd and Margaret (Frehe) Irwin in Sabetha. He married Rena L. Steen on Feb. 20, 1954. She survives. He was preceded in death by a son, Kirk Edward Irwin, on Nov. 9, 2001; a sister, Norma Armstrong; and his parents. Other survivors include a daughter in law, Allison Irwin; grandsons, Kyle Irwin and Kele Irwin, all of Wichita; sisters, Kathryn Davidson, Centralia; and Dorothy Reinhart, San Diego, CA; brother, Keith Irwin, Shawnee; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. Inurnment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
