Edward “Eddie” R. Reusch, 80, of Auburn, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025.
He was born November 1, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Lloyd Edward Reusch and Rose Marie (Winchell). Eddie proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a Purple Heart Recipient.
He married Shirley Shumway. She preceded him in passing. He then married Marilyn Mirowski.
Eddie was the proud owner of Ed’s Amco on Fairlawn Road in Topeka and then the proud owner of Ed’s Oil and Supply. Prior to working in the oil supply industry, he was a delivery driver for Dr. Pepper along with his step father, Leonard Bagby.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching races on Sunday.
He leaves behind his children, Laurie Kemrer and spouse Zane, Chad Reusch and Cody Niedfeldt and spouse Helena; nine grandchildren; his mother, Rose Marie Bagby and his siblings, Janice Cummins, John McNish, Connie Allen and Leonard Wayne Bagby. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Reusch and his wife, Marilyn Reusch; siblings, Fay Rodechamp and Keith Bagby.
His family would like to give special thanks to the Hospice group and Stormont Vail Hospital that assisted their family through this very difficult time.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. His family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at Deay Cemetery and he will be honored for his Military service. Memorial contributions may be made to Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Medical Center, 2200 SW Gage Boulevard, Topeka, KS 66622 or the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604.
